This page visualizes an image collection of 1046 paintings, from 6 prominent abstractists painters (Malevich, Mondrian, Pollock, Rothko, Kandinsky, Klee) within an interactive WebGL scene. Each image was processed by an edge detector module, producing a distribution of the edges magnitudes computed per direction, further projected into a two-dimensional manifold with the UMAP algorithm such that similar distributions appear close to one another.
